WEG acquires a transformer factory in Brazil

WEG announces partnership with Transformadores e Servi? OS de Energia das Am é ricas SA ("TSEA") has signed an agreement to acquire its transformer factory located in Betin, Minas Gerais, Brazil.

The factory was built in 2013 and has 32500 square meters (349827 square feet) of manufacturing facilities, equipment, and machinery. The factory currently has 250 employees, specializing in the production of power transformers, parallel reactors, and power autotransformers with voltage levels of 800kV and rated power of 500MVA.

According to Mr. Carlos Diether Prinz, Managing Director of WEG Transmission and Distribution, "The acquisition of this factory gives WEG a superior position to meet significant infrastructure investments expected to be implemented on the American continent in the coming years."

This transaction is subject to certain conditions and has been approved by the Competition Authority (CADE Economic Defense Administrative Committee).
