WEG plans to build a new low-voltage motor factory within the Hosur factory area in India, which is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2021. At present, the factory mainly produces medium and high voltage induction motors as well as synchronous and asynchronous large motors, and the new workshop will employ about 320 employees.

The investment amount of this low-voltage motor factory exceeds 20 million US dollars, covering an area of approximately 13000 square meters, with a production capacity of up to 250000 motors per year and a high power of 355KW. In addition to producing low-voltage motors, the factory will also provide product development, application engineering services, sales, and technical support to serve customers in this market.

Luis Alberto Tiefenseee, Executive Director of WEG Motor Division, explained that the new factory will help the company penetrate the Indian low-voltage motor market and expand its participation in the Indian market with new opportunities.

In addition to increasing our production business in India and strengthening our distribution capabilities, we will also enter a very promising market by maintaining quality standards for our products and services. We are increasingly strengthening our position as a global participant in low-voltage motors.
