WEG is investing in the construction of a powder and industrial liquid coating factory in Atotonico de Tula, Idalgo, Mexico. The factory is expected to start production in April 2020, with a construction area of 5000 square meters and the ability to produce 200 tons of powder coatings and 100000 liters of liquid coatings per month.

Reinaldo Richter, Managing Director of WEG Coatings, stated that this investment is an important step in the verticalization and expansion of WEG's product portfolio in the region. "The new factory in Mexico is part of the paint business expansion plan. In addition to expanding our participation in the local market, this is still a great opportunity for us to strengthen our international distribution capabilities, mainly in Central America and the United States," the executive explained.

The company currently provides Brazilian export products and inventory for the Mexican paint market. "This investment is also a response to our Mexican clients' good acceptance of our products in that country," Richter added.

It is expected to create 90 new jobs, and a new paint factory is under construction in Atotonilco de Tula, where the company has already conducted other businesses.

WEG has been in Mexico since 2000, with four manufacturing units in the country: two in Huehuetoca, producing electric motors and transformers, one in Tizayuca, specializing in transformers, and one in Atotonilco de Tula, where the company has a foundry, processing center, and electrical panel workshop.
